ANDREAS FELGER
THE PAUSA GOT ME GOING
Arch Hall, PAUSA-Quarter, Mössingen
18.05.–29.06.2025
Andreas Felger turned ninety on January 1, 2025
– an occasion to celebrate the artist and his work with his companions, friends of his art, and those interested in discovering his work! For an entire year, visitors will be able to experience facets of the extensive and multifaceted oeuvre of the painter, graphic artist, and sculptor from Mössingen-Belsen.
The presentation in Mössingen completes a circle: born in Mössingen-Belsen in 1935, the artist began his professional career in 1950 with an apprenticeship as a pattern designer at Pausa AG, and now, at the age of 90, the painter, woodcutter, sculptor and designer will see his design for a theatre curtain come to reality. A textile work will once again be on display at the place where he worked as a freelance textile designer (1960–80) after studying art at the Academy in Munich in the 1950s, and to which he owes his artistic roots. The designs for the double-sided fabric tie in with the abstract, vaguely landscape-inspired paintings that Andreas Felger has been creating since the 1990s. The curtain perfectly embodies the synthesis between the applied works of his early years and the works of fine art in his later years.
The closing event, featuring musical improvisations inspired by the artworks, will take place on Saturday, 28 June at 7 p.m.
