ANDREAS FELGER. CREDO
To mark Andreas Felger’s 90th birthday in 2025, we took his 19-part CREDO cycle to places that have been home to art for centuries, churches and cathedrals dating back to the Middle Ages. Contemporary art has always been exhibited in these places, and so Andreas Felger’s “Credo” ties in with a special concept. He translated the creed into visual art in 2011. Sebastian Bartmann set the paintings to music; for further audio samples and a commentary by the composer, please click here.
Norbert Lammert (former President of the German Bundestag) has published Andreas Felger’s paintings with accompanying texts and, since 2021, has been reciting the texts and commenting on the pictures in readings. We are particularly pleased that we were able to continue our CREDO PROJECT. Image, Sound, and Word on the 1700th anniversary of the Christian creed in Limburg Cathedral, Tübingen Collegiate Church, St. Mary’s Cathedral in Erfurt, the Protestant Augustinian Monastery in Erfurt, and Stuttgart Collegiate Church in 2025.
